PLENTY OF HOSTING OPPORTUNITIES THIS SPRING AND SUMMER THROUGH FRIENDSHIP FORCE AND THE INTERNATIONAL VISITORS CENTER OF CHICAGO.

FF of C and IVCC are looking for home hosts, day hosts, dinner hosts, etc. for various groups who will be visiting Chicagoland this spring and summer.

FF of C will be hosting two groups, one from Kiel, Germany, and the other a split group from Noumea, New Caledonia and Biarritz, France.

IVCC has a very active summer planned including several groups that are looking for home hosting in June and July.

Mid 27 to June 1 2008 A group of 16  from Kiel Germany will be visiting FF of C before they go on to Milwaulkee.  All plans are final.  All FF of Chicago members are invited to join the many group activities and if you are not home hosting but want to offer to day host or dinner host, see details.  Contact exchange director Bob Hernquist to RSVP for events or to volunteer to day host. See page for exchange for all details.

Contact Bob and Dorothy to volunteer.  rshern@aol.com

MID JULY 2008 (July 8 to 14) Inbound from clubs in Noumea, New Calendonia and Biarritz, France.  Club leaders there speak English.  Two small groups from these two French speaking clubs will be traveling together and will arrive from Quebec to Chicago on July 8.  While most of the visitors have some English, French speaking hosts would be most welcome.  But even if all you can say is Merci, beaucoup, contact Sharon Huck or Olga Connor if you can home host, day or dinner host, or help plan welcome and farewell and other group events.  sharonhuck@sbcglobal.net or ppconnor@earthlink.net.  Current plans involve home hosts pickup guests at 7:05 at O'Hare on 7/8.  On the 9th a group activity in the city, perhaps a trolley or boat tour in the afternoon, with a welcome dinner picnic in a FF of C members' condo along the lakefront.  The group has requested one free day to do their own group outing which will be either Thursday or Saturday.  The farewell dinner will be Sunday the 13th and will be combined with our annual summer picnic.  Iztak Perlman will be conducting the Grant Park Orchestra at 7:30 for a free concert and will will do the Farewell Dinner at 6 in a condo party room across the street.  A Friday group outing is also possible.  Details will be posted as they develop.

We don't have a firm headcount for our visitors but HOME HOSTS ARE NEEDED SO IF INTERESTED LET OLGA OR SHARON KNOW NOW.

As we get more details about the various IVCC visitors we will be posting that info here.

DISCOVER CHINA--AGAIN.  A very special national outbound led by Cathy Cameron and Linda Mellis of our Chicago chapter is the fall of 2008.  Changes in the dates, itinerary and pricing are noted on the following pages.

Under consideration for the fall and winter a tour of the BAPS temple, a Silk Road theater party in and Holiday party in Dec.

Volunteers are needed for the two inbound exchanges and to help organize local social events.
